terms & Conditions

These policies are automatically agreed to upon booking with The Island Edit. 



Booking & Payment


  • All bookings require a non-refundable 50% deposit.
  • The remaining balance is due 3 days before the booking, this will be requested via a payment link.
  • Any discount will be applied to the remaining balance, which will be sent separately as above. 
  • Bookings may be cancelled if payment isn't received on time. 
  • Bookings made within 3 days must be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • The booking is confirmed once payment has been received.


Cancellations

 

  • Deposits may be transferred to a new date (once only and subject to availability) provided at least 3 days notice is given.
  • Transfers must be redeemed within 3 months of the original booking date.
  • Cancellations within 3 days are non-refundable and the full balance remains payable.
  • No-shows are non-refundable.
  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to reschedule or cancel bookings. Where this occurs, a full refund or alternative date will be offered. 


 The Island Edit understands that exceptional circumstances can arise and will always aim to act fairly and reasonably where possible.
 

Parking

 

  • The Island Edit provides three designated parking spaces directly in front of the studio entrance.
  • A further three vehicles may park in single file (bumper to bumper) in front of the roller shutter door, provided access to neighbouring units remains unobstructed.
  • Additional parking is available within the surrounding industrial estate.
  • Guests and suppliers must not park in neighbouring businesses’ allocated spaces or block access to adjacent units at any time.
  • The booking client is responsible for ensuring all attendees adhere to these parking arrangements.
  • All vehicles and their contents are left entirely at the owner’s risk. The Island Edit accepts no liability for loss, theft or damage.
     

During Your Hire

 

The booking client is responsible for all guests and suppliers during the hire period.


Please note:  The studio is self-accessed via keycode entry. The Island Edit team remains a short drive away should any assistance be required. A one-time code will be sent the day before your booking. 


  • Please take time at the start of your booking to inspect for any potential damage, report damages immediately. 
  • Please treat the studio, props and furnishings with care.
  • Return all items to their original positions unless a cleaning add-on has been purchased.
  • Please use the provided shoe coverings. 
  • Furniture must be lifted carefully — not dragged.
  • No drilling, adhesives, wall fixings, glitter, confetti, smoke bombs or open flames unless agreed in writing prior to your booking.
  • The use of fake tan, makeup, body oils or strongly coloured products must be managed carefully, and any staining to furnishings, flooring or backdrops may result in cleaning or replacement charges. 
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Dogs must be supervised at all times, and kept off all furniture. 
  • The roller shutter door must not be used without prior agreement. 
  • Please report any damages caused immediately.
  • Card details may be held on file to cover loss, damage or additional cleaning. 
  • Late arrivals cannot extend their session past their original time.
  • The space must not be used for illegal, offensive or hazardous activities. 
  • Any use involving nudity or potentially sensitive material must be disclosed in advanced and approved. 
  • Smoking, vaping and the use of illegal substances are strictly prohibited. 



Any damage or excessive cleaning required following your hire may be charged accordingly.
 

We reserve the right to end a booking without refund if the space is used unsafely or in breach of these terms.


Safety & Liability

 

  • Guests use the studio and its facilities at their own risk.
  • Floor can be slippery when wet.
  • Furniture and props must be moved safely and with care. Any movement or handling of studio items is undertaken at the client’s discretion. 
  • The Island Edit cannot accept responsibility for injury resulting from the movement or misuse of furniture, props or equipment.
  • The booking client accepts full responsibility for any damage caused during their hire period, including damage caused by guests or external suppliers.
  • The Island Edit will not be held liable for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings.
  • Any accidents, injuries or hazards must be reported to The Island Edit immediately.
  • The first aid kit and accident book are located in the upper kitchen cabinet. 


Cleaning & Overtime


  • Clients may reset the space themselves or purchase the optional cleaning add-on.
  • The studio must be left in good condition at the end of the booking.
  • Overtime will be charged if the studio is not vacated within the agreed booking period. 
  • Please allow sufficient time for setup and pack-down within your allocated slot.
  • Additional cleaning or repair fees may apply where the space is left in a condition requiring extra attention beyond standard use.
     


Events & Workshops

 

Clients hosting events are responsible for:


  • Staying within the agreed capacity.
  • Guest behaviour and supervision.
  • Ensuring external suppliers operate safely and hold the appropriate insurances.
  • If alcohol is consumed, the booking client is responsible for ensuring guests drink responsibly and in accordance with UK licensing laws.
  • Excessive noise or disruptive behaviour may result in your booking being ended without refund. 
  • Public Liability Insurance may be requested for certain bookings.
     


Fire Safety

 

  • Fire exits must remain clear at all times.
  • The rear fire exit is only to be opened in an emergency. 
  • Maximum capacity must not be exceeded.
  • The booking client is responsible for ensuring guests are aware of emergency exits. 
  • In the event of the fire alarm sounding, all guests must exit immediately, in accordance with the fire action plan.
  • Contact The Island Edit team on the emergency number provided.
  • In the event of a fire, dial 999.
     


Data Protection & Privacy

  • The Island Edit will ensure all personal data is handled securely and responsibly in accordance with GDPR law. 
  • CCTV operates in communal areas for safety and security purposes. Footage is stored securely in accordance with UK data protection regulations and may be accessed if required for safety or liability purposes. 


Our Right to Refuse

The Island Edit reserves the right to refuse or terminate bookings that breach these terms or pose safety or damage risks.
